by dark angle inthis is quite awkward for me to give!
our elder gave me that assignment last week and should be delivered next week on the theocratic ministry school.
considering i have very unconventional views for the wts about blood, evolution, bible, and the gb, delivering this talk seemd quite maladroit.

If You've Faded, Do You Still Consider Yourself a Dub?
by brunnhilde ini've been thinking about this a lot, because i've chosen to fade and i would never refer to myself as a jdub, but i've read postings from others who do.
i would have written a letter a year ago but i've got older parents who are upset enough about me just not attending.
on another thread someone is also leaving and they were advised to tell the jc to do whatever, to not acknowledge that they have any authority.

2007 DC "Follow the Christ" Locations Available
by blondie ini finally got the list for the us and canada.
i can't say which one your relatives or "friends" are going to but i can tell you what the sites are.
i notice they are not posted yet on the www.jw-media.org website.. many did not get their march 1, 2007, wts in us congregations until this week because the site of their convention had not been announced at the congregation level.. there are several english conventions being held at the newburgh, ny assembly hall and the queens, ny assembly hall as well as at the west palm beach, fl assembly hall.

by Leolaia ini was just browsing the leiden university website which has a whole plethora of "open source" journal and monograph articles online written by biblical scholar h. j. de jonge.
previously, i have read his work on the testaments of the twelve patriarchs, including his recent book on the christian provenance of this pseudepigraphal work.
he is quite a seasoned scholar in the study of early christianity.

HLC shows favoritism
by seek2find inmy family had an experiance where a family member was to have a serious medical procedure in a different city from where they lived.
we thought they would get good suport from the hlc in that town.
boy was we wrong!

...I got the impression that it was hard to find willing volunteers of the right calibre. They have to be capable of developing a good relationship with doctors and surgeons, address medical groups , have the ability to cope with trauma and distraught families - and be willing to drop everything at a moments notice to attend an emergency. ..how many elders do you know who could do all of that?
The current brain-drain only makes this problem worse. Even so, make no mistake, their chief purpose is to make sure that JWs do "not give in to worldly pressure to take blood."

I had a similar experience over a decade ago. HLC members in two different major cities where unwilling to assist me in finding a specialized surgeon for my special problem. I finally found one on my own with a little help from an "employee" of a "bloodless center." I think he got in trouble for helping me.
Some major medical centers have come to regard the HLC persons as like the "gestapo" of Hitler's regime. They are there as policemen, not as compassionate pastors.

My theory on the blood policy and the GB

by saying that fractions are a grey area they were hoping that the brain washing would kick in and cause the r&f to say in they're heads "hey this is a grey area what did the fds say about grey areas oh stay away from them".. ( your old fence setter analogy.
